I joined Custom Media at the end of 2010 as the company's graphic designer. Here I was in charge of producing their monthly BCCJ Acumen magazine, website and ftp management, and design for their web and print projects. These projects included brochure design, leaflets, websites and advertisements, in both Japanese and English. |

Japan's only English-language family magazine invited me on board as their Art Director at the end of 2009. Each issue is divided up into five main sections: Events, Cover Story, Escape, Lifestyle and Community. I've gradually refined the basic layout of the magazine month by month, adding my own touch to the magazine. Tokyo Families is available in schools and selected bookshops around Tokyo and Yokohama. Pixel artist extraordinaire Army Of Trolls (aka Gary Lucken) is the subject of my latest interview/design feature in the current issue of Fused Magazine. I spoke to Gary from his home in Switzerland, and got to know the man behind the pixels. Fused is available throughout the UK at Borders or can be purchased online at their official site. |

Previously a small, free publication, I joined the Hard To Explain team for its redesign and relaunch as a larger format paid magazine. Working with a team of talented designers, we took the core design of the magazine and went one step further; creating the most impressive & eye-catching designs we could. Click on each issue to see my contributions. Hard To Explain is now available from HMV. |

The American School In Japan is a top level institution located in Chōfu, Tokyo. The school were looking for a fresh new look for their newsletter and promotional materials. I had the chance to submit my ideas for the re-design, have a look at the finished results here. |

Working at Apropos Designs studio in Birmingham I often had the chance to produce logo designs for local companies and organisations. The best of these (submitted shortly before coming to Japan) were for a charity group in Worcester, Onside Independent Advocacy, and a local Kitchen Planners & Furnishers Grand Interior Designs. |

Previous to joining Apropos I worked as the designer for a group of Bathroom supplies companies. Key projects I was involved in included: company logo and website redesign, pricelists, promotional advertisements and catalogue production. The best of these was the eighty+ page Jax Bathrooms catalogue. Sample pages: 1 2 3 |

I've been a semi-regular to Fused Magazine ever since interviewing co-creator David O'Coy for a University essay of mine years ago. The magazine is based in Birmingham but features art, music & culture from all over the world. My previous work for Fused includes fashion articles and artist interviews. See features on: Shinjuko & Imaitoonz. |
As part of the annual Design & Art Direction awards, I chose a brief set by top drinks company Snapple. The brief was to rework and redesign the complete visual identity of the brand, no small order. For this, I designed my first fully functioning typeface Snappletude, came up with a funky new bottle design and proposed their first ever stand-alone vending machines. |
